Paul S. Andrews

Paul S. Andrews, 75, of Fredericktown, Pa., (Deemston Boro), died Monday, October 31, 2005, in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on January 14, 1930 in Briceville, Tenn., a son of the late Clarence L. and Levetta Jones Andrews.

Mr. Andrews was an employee of the Penn Birmingham Bolt Co. of Scenery Hill and later worked for Bethlehem Mines Corporation, Mine 60 in Eighty Four, Pa. He was also the owner and operator of P & M Electric in Centerville from 1964 to 1978 and later he owned and operated Paul’s Automotive in Bentleyville, Pa., from 1981 to 2001 before retiring.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954. During his enlistment he served aboard the USS Missouri BB-63, the USS Albany CA-123, and the USS Navarro APA-215.

Mr. Andrews was very active in the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in California, Pa., having been a member since 1959. He served on the church board, was an usher, was a church bus driver, Sunday School Teacher, church mechanic and also helped participate in the construction of the church.

On August 9, 1951 he married Mildred A. Bergman, his wife of over 54 years who survives. Also surviving are five daughters: Cindy Brummett and husband, Danny of Somerset, Ky., Dawn Hesselbarth and husband, Mark of Cokeburg, Pa., Shelby Vanderhoof and husband, Bob of Ellsworth, Pa. Pamela Wally and husband, Walter of Hopwood, Pa., Sandi DeBasilio and husband, Tom of Monongahela, Pa.; three sons: Paul David Andrews and wife, Linda of Deemston Boro, Barry Andrews and wife, Patty of Deemston Boro, Brian Andrew and wife, Pam of Centerville, Pa.; one brother, Kenneth Andrews of Greensburg, Pa.; six sisters: Barbara D’Adamo of Monessen, Mary Alice Griffith of Ohio, Katheryn Meinhold of Donora, Clara Diantonio of Pittsburgh, Margarite Hill of Chicago, Ill., and Betty Jo Shaffer of Greensburg; 17 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are one sister, Edna Wolfe and one grandson, Ryan Bailey.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, Pa.

Additional visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. the hour of Services in the CALVARY CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE, California, Pa., on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, with the Rev. David Watts officiating.

Interment will be in Fells Cemetery, Fellsburg, Pa., (Rostraver Township).
