Ann Dick

Ann Dick, 83, of Point Marion, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, in Morgan Manor Convalescent Center of Morgantown, W.Va. She was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Galitzia, Russia, daughter of Nicholas and Helen Stetz Chupasko.

Ann, along with her late husband, Robert Dick, were the former owners and operators for 27 years of a well established tavern known as the Sunset Bar of Uniontown, Pa. Ann was also instrumental in the war effort during World War II as one of the women known as Rosie the Riverter, working in factories building aircraft. She was an accomplished quilt maker and an avid bingo and card player.

She is survived by three stepdaughters, Brenda Rudolph and husband, Thomas of Point Marion, Debra Cochrane and husband, Robert of Uniontown, and Jan Cardenas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two stepsons, Daniel Dick of Cobleskill, N.Y., and Robert Dick and wife, Lorrie of Naples, Fla.; two daughters-in-law, Judy Marek of Uniontown, and Betty Marek of Oregon; ten step-grandchildren, Ted Kell, Kaitlin Rudolph, Alexandra Rudolph, Brian Cochrane, Tara Dunham, Korey Dick, Brittaney Dick, Bobbie Jo Dick, Trent Dick and Justin Dick; five grandchildren, Chet Marek, Roy Marek and Hank Marek, all of Oregon, and Lori Marek and Tammy Marek, both of Uniontown; one step great-grandson, Brian Cochrane Jr.; two sisters, Anastasia Prokell of Haymarket, Va., and Martha Bertovich of Pittsburgh; God child, Cynthia Glade of Haymarket, Va., and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dick on Oct. 26, 1997, two sons, Arthur and Joseph Marek; three sisters, Mary Carrol, Eve Carson and Olga Chupasko; one brother, Nicholas Chupasko; and two sets of twins.

Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, 15 Main St., Point Marion, Pa., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with funeral services to be held on Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Father Jude Mili and the Rev. Father John Agapito officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
