Dominic V. Pryor
Dominic V. Pryor, 79, of Marianna, Pa., died Tuesday, November 1, 2005, in the UPMC, Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born January 21, 1926 in Tower Hill 1, Fayette County, a son of Frank and Theresa Proia.
He was a 1944 graduate of West Beth High School.
Mr. Pryor was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army 23rd Infantry in Europe. He was a member of the American Legion Post 744 in Marianna and a member of Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Saints Mary and Ann Catholic Church in Marianna for many years. Mr. Pryor had been a Councilman for the Marianna Boro and was a founding member of the Beth-Center Kickoff Club.
On June 26, 1952 he married Antoinette M. Citro Pryor who is deceased.
Surviving are two sons: Frank A. Pryor of Fredericktown and Anthony L. Pryor of Pittsburgh; one brother, Larry Pryor of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren: Nicholas, Frankie, Caroline, Katharine, and Laura Pryor; several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Tony and Steve Pryor and four sisters, Helen Stingley, Angeline Turcol, Mary George, and Sunday Proia predecease him.
Friends will be received in the NICHOL FUNERAL HOME, 1728 Main Street, Marianna, Pa., today, November 3, 2005, from 2 to 9 p.m. where prayers will be recited on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Saints Mary and Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Grunebach as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery.
