One person was transported by ambulance to Highlands Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on South Eight Street at Leisenring Avenue in Connellsville at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday, according to Fayette County 911. Both Connellsville and Connellsville Township fire departments and Fayette EMS and Connellsville EMS responded to the scene, according to 911. A medical helicopter was requested, but no chopper was available to fly, said 911.
