Mary Ethel Rugg
Mary Ethel Rugg, 75, of Confluence, Pa. beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully at home and went to be with God on Nov. 8, 2005. She was born May 13, 1930, in Dunbar, Pa., the daughter of the late Richard and Ellen (Beck) Anderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Milton Hendrickson and Robert Anderson; and a sister, May (Hendrickson) Foust.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Franklin Rugg; daughters, Shirley Metheney and husband, Bill of Ursina, and Karen Fike and fianc?, John “Cub” Lichty of Addison; one son, William Rugg and wife, Tina of Garrett; grandchildren, Chris Hoover and husband, Greg, Mike Metheney and wife, Lisa, and Chad and Kayla Rugg; great-grandchildren, Katie, Molly and Emily Hoover and Joshua, Hannah and Abbie Metheney; a brother, Bernard Anderson and wife, Eldora of Markleysburg; sisters, Virginia Deal of Addison and Viola Hyatt of Confluence; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; a dear friend, Grace Rugg and good neighbor, Roger Goller.
She was a member of the Kingwood Church of God. She worked at the turnpike at Howard Johnson’s as a cook and for 33 years at DeVilbiss Sunrise Medical. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed working in her flower garden, drives in the country and playing with all her little angels (grandchildren and great-grandchildren).
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 pm., today and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the HUMBERT FUNERAL HOME, Confluence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Kingwood Church of God, with the Rev. James Monticue and the Rev. Paul Tobias officiating. Interment will be in Addison Cemetery.
