Volunteers sought for dinner

1 min read

The Brownsville Soup Kitchen is in need of community volunteers to assist with the Thanksgiving dinner, which will be served on Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Jamie Brink, Fayette County Community Action Agency Inc. Food Bank project manager, anticipates at least 200 individuals for the dinner. There were 200 people last year that were served. She needs people to volunteer at the soup kitchen as servers and to help clean up after dinner.

Brink encourages members of the community to volunteer, even just for one hour in order to assist others in need in the community.

“You do not have to have experience. We will train you. This is your chance to give back to the community during this season of giving. Additionally, volunteers are needed on a daily basis,” said Brink.

For more information or to volunteer, call Brink at 724-437-6050, ext. 264.

The Brownsville Soup Kitchen will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25, in observance of Thanksgiving.
