Rolland M. Springer
Rolland M. Springer, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born July 25, 1926, in New Geneva, Pa., to the now late William W. Springer and Elizabeth Mallory Springer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Edward, Merle, Warren, Dale and Cecil Springer.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, in 1944, and fought in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of Operation, where he received three purple hearts. Rolland was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, American Disabled American Veterans, Laurel Lodge No. 651 F & AM, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Pittsburgh Gourgas Lodge, Pittsburgh Consistory, and was an ordained Elder of Third Presbyterian Church. He worked for Fruehauf as a Commercial Spray Painter for 28 years
Surviving him are his wife of 59 years, Faye McCartney Springer; two sons, Rolland (Terry) Springer II, of Pittsburgh, and David W. Springer and his wife, Nina of Hopwood; two daughters, Debora L. Springer-Leary and husband, Charles of Elkins, W.Va., and Lori Beth Schiano and husband, John of Uniontown; seven grandchildren, Giuseppe and Giovanni Schiano and Scott, Seth, Coby, Eric and Morgan Springer; and several nieces and nephews.memorials@adferguson.com.
