Eleanor E. Barnes Bufalini
Eleanor E. Barnes Bufalini, age 69, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, November 18, 2005, in Lafayette Manor.
She was born August 11, 1936, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., to Edgar C. Barnes and Eleanor Sykes Barnes.
She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1954 and from Penn State University with a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics Education in 1958.
Eleanor taught at Edinboro High School and then worked for Columbia Gas and resumed her teaching in Home Economics for Laurel Highlands School District for 28 years before her retirement in 1993.
She was a member of the Fayette County Home Economics Association, the National Education Association, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and the Laurel Highlands Education Association.
Surviving are: her loving husband of 39 years, Robert M. Bufalini; two sons: Michael Bufalini and his wife, Marcy, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Bruce Bufalini of Greensburg, Pa.; two grandchildren: Joseph Francis Bufalini and Anna Eleanor Bufalini; and a brother, Robert Barnes and his wife, Marilyn, of Blairsville, Georgia.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Friends will be received on Monday, November 21, in THIRD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 425 Union Street, Uniontown, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of Eleanor’s Life at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William D. Rodahaver officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, UPMC, Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Albert Gallatin Home and Hospice Care, and Third Presbyterian Church.
Visitation was also held Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
