George Gale Thomas
George Gale Thomas, age 62, of Grindstone, Pa., passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in UPMC, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born June 16, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., son of George Thomas and Mamie (Rich) Thomas.
George was a member of New Life Free Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and usher.
He was a former employee of United States Steel Corporation at the Homestead Works and a machinist for AWI Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gordon Thomas; three children: Cheryl Thomas of Point Marion, Pa., Georgetta Gail Exley and her husband, Steve, of Perryopolis, Pa., and Glenn J. Thomas and his wife, Louise, of Grindstone, Pa.; three grandchildren: Victoria Thomas, Brittney Thomas and Joshua Exley; and brothers and sister: Larry Thomas of Hammond, Indiana, Carl Thomas of New Salem, Pa., Roger Thomas and his wife, Violet, of New Salem, Pa., Raymond Thomas of Point Marion, Pa., and Mamie McGinnis of Rowes Run, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Saturday, November 26, after 7 p.m., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, November 28, until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Dean Griffiths officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
