Joseph Szente, age 90, a lifelong resident of Daisytown, Pa., owner/operator and self-employed mechanic at the Whitehall Garage in Daisytown who had also worked for several years at J&L Steel’s Vesta 4 coal mine, died Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2005, at 9:10 a.m. in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Mae Yorty Szente, whom he married February 1, 1939; daughter, Joann Szente Patch of California, Pa.; grandchildren: Lisa Mae Patch, Alyssa Lee Decker and David Carl Decker; one great granddaughter; one great grandson; nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street (Route 40), Beallsville, Pa., today and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, November 28, until 11 a.m.
