3 min read

Tickets for the annual “Homes for the Holiday” house tour on Sunday, Dec. 11, will go on sale Monday. The tour is sponsored by the Crime Victims’ Center of Fayette County.

Once again, the warm gestures of the holiday season will unfold with halls decked in their holiday finery and the magical ambiance filling each room. Gracious hosts will welcome guests to their beautiful homes and the historic St. Anthony Friary for this traditional home tour in Uniontown.

Opening their doors and hearts in the true spirit of this special season are Dr. Gary and Joyce Sontheimer, Rich and Kathy Rafail, Bob and Patty Fleszar, Russell and Debra Rhodes and the historic St. Anthony Friary, which is home to the Rev. Matthew Brozovic, the Rev. Richard Portasik, the Rev. Damian Cesanek and Brother Damien Murkley.

Guests are welcome to tour the homes glimmering in all their festive holiday splendor, meet the owners and enjoy refreshments.

The friary will be celebrating the advent season in preparation for Christmas.

Tickets for this much-anticipated event will be available beginning Monday at the Crime Victims’ Center located at 109 W. Fayette St., Uniontown, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Due to a limited number of tickets, guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. The tour donation is $20.

“The holiday season truly is a most wonderful time of the year. And the home owners who open their homes for this event are simply wonderful people,” commented Jacquie Fritts, executive director of the CVC. “Our agency cannot begin to express our most heartfelt appreciation to the extraordinary people who make this tour possible. Thank you so much for allowing us to share in your family’s life and traditions. Each home is so unique and special and glows with the warm personalities of its owners. Thank you for your support and generosity.”

In addition to the tour, a Chinese auction offering a myriad of holiday gifts, arts and crafts and gift certificates donated by generous, local businesses will be held at the friary. A special drawing will be held for an overnight stay at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa. Guests are also invited to relax and enjoy a delicious post-tour dinner at Caileigh’s of Uniontown. The cost of the dinner is $20 and reservations are required.

All proceeds from the tour benefit the Crime Victims’ Center, a non-profit agency that provides crisis intervention, medical and legal advocacy, counseling, prevention education programs and various other much needed services and programs to all victims and families of sexual assaults and violent crimes.

The CVC offers a 24-hour crisis hotline, 724-437-3737, in addition to being the community action team for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
