Virginia Lauderback Persin Yorty
Virginia Lauderback Persin Yorty, age 84, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Deemston, Washington County, Pa., died Saturday, October 1, 2005, in Beverly Health Care, Uniontown, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 8, 1921, in Belle Vernon, Pa., the daughter of Wayne Lauderback and Mary Elizabeth Haines Lauderback.
Virginia graduated from the now former Ellsworth High School in the Class of 1939.
Mrs. Yorty was a homemaker.
She enjoyed collecting items from flea markets, particularly antiques. She collected over 200 movies on tape as well as numerous dolls.
She spent time searching for and collecting different rocks and fossils, which she fashioned into jewelry.
Mrs. Yorty was an animal lover and was especially fond of Siamese cats.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Persin on December 26, 1962, her second husband, George W. Yorty on December 18, 1970, a son, Michael W. Persin on October 25, 2000, and her parents.
Surviving are two Sons: John J. Persin Jr. and his wife, Marcy, of Fredericktown, Pa., and Gary R. Yorty of Uniontown, Pa.; four Grandchildren: John G. Persin and Leanne R. Persin both of Fredericktown, Pa., Aaron D. Persin of Missouri and Jacob M. McCahill of Belle Vernon, Pa.; one Sister, Betty Lauderback Kudak of Washington, Pa.; several Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street (Route 40), Beallsville, Pa., today from 1 to 8 p.m. where Services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating.
Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.
