Procession slated
The fifth annual Eucharistic Procession in Uniontown will begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, with three rites of the Catholic Church participating: Maronite, Byzantine and Roman. The event coincides with the conclusion of the Year of the Eucharist as declared by the late Pope John Paul II. Procession participants will gather at 2:30 p.m. at St. George Maronite Church on Lebanon Terrace. The event will begin at 3 p.m. with the Divine Mercy Chapel and prayer service, continue to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with a prayer service and end at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church with a prayer and benediction. Light refreshments will follow in the school social hall. Shuttle service will be available for those wishing to park at St. John the Evangelist and be taken over to St. George before the start of the procession.
