Agnes D. Simon
Agnes D. Simon, 72, of New Eagle, Pa., died peacefully in her home on Oct. 8, 2005. She was born on Dec. 12, 1932, in Footedale, a daughter of the late George and Helen Shutty Sofranko.
Mrs. Simon was a member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She found pleasure in gardening her flowers, baking, cooking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, David Simon, with whom she celebrated 49 years of marriage on July 7, 2005; three daughters, Suzanne Simon of New Eagle, Beth Simon and her husband, Robert Snyder and Julie Simon, all of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Molly Simon and Carlos Snyder; two sisters, Helen Sofranko of Footedale and Margaret and her husband, Andrew Demeter of McClellandtown; and a brother, Donald Sofranko of West Lake, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and George Sofranko.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m., in Transfiguration Church, with the Rev. George Chortos, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
