Beatrice Loretta (Abbott-Darrell) Blair, 92, of Masontown, Pa., beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, The Matriarch of her family, departed this earth for her eternal heavenly home with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at the Coville Personal Care Home in Masontown, Pa., where she was a resident for the past three years. Beatrice was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Masontown, Pa., the youngest of three daughters of Raymond and Eva Darrell Abbott. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Blair on July 16, 1974; two sons, Wayne and Raymond Blair, a daughter, Darlene Blair Kozy, a daughter-in-law, Betty, and her two older sisters, Alice Fike and Mildred Weaver.

Beatrice was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher at the Masontown Mennonite Church. She was also very active with the Masontown Senior Citizen Center, where she was a volunteer for “Meals on Wheels Program”, Craft-maker Leader and past Site Council Recording Secretary.

Beatrice raised nine responsible respectable children, which she considered her proudest accomplishment.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Gerald Blair and wife, Sara of Mineral Ridge, Ohio, and Alfred Blair and wife, Patty of Masontown, Pa.; four daughters, Eleanor Kresevich and husband, Bill of Masontown, Pa., Martha Dorsey and husband, Paul of Gallatin, Pa., Vivian May and husband, Ronald of Carmichaels, Pa., and Cheryl Myers and husband, Randy of Smithfield, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Charles (Jack) Kozy; and dearest friends, in addition to her church family, Bea Kelly and Betty Moser.

Friends will be received in the BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME, 220 South Main St., Masontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday at the Masontown Mennonite Church from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. David Crable officiating. Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery. Visitation was also held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m.
