Thelma Weir

Thelma Weir, 79, of New Salem, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on Oct. 17, 1925, in Lemont Furnace, Pa., a daughter of Elzie and Lucy (Yowler) Fields.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Weir; two daughters, Connie Linko and Carolyn Ashton, a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Linko, two brothers, Elmer and William Fields, and four sisters, Pearl Shaw, Hazel Provance, Marie Cooper and Elsie Balsinger.

Thelma was an avid Bingo player.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Aletha Ann (Leigh) Klink and companion, Robert “Tweety” Yatsko; three grandchildren, John Linko and wife, Kelly, Shyrl-An Linko, and Mark Klink and wife Amy; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Linko and Brendan, Ashton, Austin and Tristan Klink; one brother, Edgar Fields of Carmichaels, Pa.; two sisters, Pauline Hall of Florida, and Anna Fields of Vanderbilt, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in THE STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, until 1 p.m., the hour of service, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donald Bowser officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
