West Brownsville Seven injured
Two adults and one child were transported by helicopter to area hospitals Friday evening when a pick up truck collided with a car along Route 88 near Blainesburg in West Brownsville.
Ryan Nichols, Brownsville Ambulance dispatcher and EMT said the accident occurred at 7:40 p.m. on Route 88 near the entrance to Blainesburg causing all four lanes to be shut down until 8:48 p.m.
Nichols said two other adults involved in the accident were transported to Brownsville Hospital along with two children.
Nichols added that two people were in the truck while the car had two adults and three children.
Assisting at the scene were West Brownsville, California and Denbo fire departments along with Fayette EMS, Hiller EMS, state police from Washington and California police.

Dog attack
City police said “Chuckie,” a pit bull terrier owned by Theresa Palo of Rear 205 Coolspring St. attacked Robert Smothers and Reggie Grooms of Uniontown at 5:34 p.m. Wednesday when they went to her house to visit her. They opened the gate around her yard and the dog attacked, police said. Both men were bitten on the face, arms and hands. Smother was treated at Uniontown Hospital and Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance personnel treated Grooms at the scene. The SPCA was dispatched and is waiting for the owner to provide proof of the dog’s vaccinations, police said.

Aggravated assault
State police said Michael Latkanich, 29, of Monessen was arraigned in district court Thursday on charges of aggravated assault and related criminal charges after he allegedly punched and kicked Charles Yusko, 53, of Belle Vernon along Axton Street at 4:15 p.m. rendering him unconscious and threatening to do the same to Arnold Dull, 64, of Belle Vernon and James Fellin, 40, of Eighty Four.
Yusko was transported to Monongahela Valley Hospital where he was treated for a fractured nose, fractured ribs and multiple contusions and abrasions. Latkanich was released after he posted $10,000 bail.

Theft reported
City police said a red Sears lawnmower and an orange and black Black and Decker trimmer were reported stolen from the porch of Shirley Scott’s West Main Street home at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Needles found
Two hypodermic needles were found in the alley behind Video Snax on Morgantown Street at 7 p.m. Wednesday, city police said. The needles were disposed of.

Dog stolen
City police said a harrier with brown, black and white markings owned by Anya Vasilis was stolen from the backyard of her South Mount Vernon Avenue home between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday. The dog weighs about 65 pounds.
Beallsville
Vehicle accident
State police said Melissa Knizer of Marianna and Timothy Davis of Brownsville were involved in an accident on Route 40 at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday. Knizer had minor injuries. Both vehicles had moderate damages.

Charges filed
Escape charges were filed against Ronald L. Davis II, 33, of 1007 Rear Garfield St., Roscoe, for allegedly fleeing the scene of a traffic stop on Route 40 at Scenic Lane at 10:20 a.m. Monday, state police said.
The charges were filed at Magisterial District Judge Curtis Thompson’s office. Police said Davis is also wanted in a warrant from Beaver County.

Debit card used
Kathry Cmar of 500 Blind Lane, Belle Vernon told Southwest Regional police that her debit card was used several times Wednesday afternoon at area businesses after she lost her purse by inadvertently putting on the trunk of her car while getting in and drove away.

Burglary investigated
State police said someone entered the residence of Karen Lynne Ulery, 54, of 2151 Beallsville Road, Marianna sometime between 7:10 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. Thursday and removed an air conditioner, cash and jewelry.
South Strabane Twp.
Traffic accident
Vehicles driven by Dennis Ferlich, 52, of Washington, Lillian Royer, 47, of Vestaburg and Charles Ball, 46, of Scenery Hill collided Friday at 6:40 a.m. at the end of the Exit 20 ramp along Interstate 70. Royer and a passenger in her vehicle, David Royer, 25, of Vestaburg, were transported by Washington Ambulance and Chair to Washington Hospital.

Contraband arrest
State police charged Frank Allen Riviera, 39, of SCI Greene with possession of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to commit contraband after he was found in possession of marijuana in the visiting room of the facility at noon on Oct. 2.

Brad Miller, 33, of Washington was charged with Driving Under the Influence after state police stopped him Sept. 24 at 2:32 a.m. along Route 21.

Motorcycle accident
State police said Jeffrey S. McClay, 21, of 1116 Brush Run Road was transported by helicopter to UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh Thursday at 8:22 p.m. after he lost control of the 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was operating while going around a bend and struck a mailbox post head on.
Police cited McClay for driving with an expired license and not having a motorcycle license.

Trailer strikes pole
State police said David Blake, 50, of Moundsville, W.Va., was traveling East on Route 21 Oct. 17 at 11:30 a.m. when the hitch from a camper trailer he was towing became disconnected from his truck and traveled off the road before striking a utility pole. Richhill Volunteer Fire Company and Allegheny Power assisted at the scene.

State police said someone removed a Metrotech underground wire locator from an unlocked toolbox in the bed of a pickup truck owned by John Hartley, 49, of Prosperity sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday while it was parked at 901 Dunn Station Road.

Randy Lee Yoders, 41, of Spraggs told state police that someone entered his residence along Rush Run Road sometime between 5 p.m. Sept. 11 and 11 a.m. Sept. 25 and stole a 2002 Honda XR.
