Eleanor Ruth Cooley Collins
Eleanor Ruth Cooley Collins, age 87, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, October 13, 2005, in Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born May 5, 1918, in Fairchance, Pa., a daughter of William Cooley and Della Wilson Cooley. Mrs. Collins was a former nursing assistant employed at the Uniontown Hospital for nearly 20 years.
She previously attended the Uniontown Church of God.
Her parents, her husband, Ralph Collins Sr., three children, Charles William Collins, Ralph Collins Jr. and Shirley Ann Collins, five brothers, Clarence, Steve, Nick, Leonard and Melvin Cooley, and a sister Elsie Cunningham, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Larry Collins and his wife, Peggy, of the Poconos; a daughter, Kathy Pierce and her husband, Kent, of Uniontown, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Betty Collins of Fairchance, Pa.; a grandson, Christopher Jordan, with whom she made her home; six additional grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, October 17) until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Calvin “Junior” Cox officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Christopher Jordan Jr., 527 Independence Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
