Fire damages trailer

1 min read

Firefighters contained a fire in a Sheldon Avenue trailer in Fairchance within minutes after it broke out around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Fairchance Fire Chief Ray Eicher said. Fire caused minor damage to the trailer, but no one from the family of at least three that occupied the residence was injured, said Eicher. The fire was possibly caused by an electrical malfunction, the fire chief said. Since the borough is under mandatory water conservation, Eicher called the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department’s water tanker to the scene, but said the tanker wasn’t needed since the volunteer firemen had the fire contained in 10 minutes.
