Barbara A. Higbee Riggin, age 55, of Dawson, Pa., passed away suddenly Friday, October 21, 2005, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa.

She was born April 29, 1950, at Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Willis Higbee and Ruth Patterson Higbee.

Barbara was the Vice-President of the Uniontown Ladies Democrat Club and an avid bingo player.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law, Geraldine Riggin.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Riggin; a daughter, Ruth Ann Thompson, also of Dawson; a stepson, Sheldon Riggin and his wife, Betty, of Uniontown, Pa.; three grandsons: Justin Thompson, Michael McGill and Sheldon Riggin; a sister, Ruth Crowe and her husband, Gary, of Grindstone, Pa.; three nieces: Kim Bizik, Barbie Crowe and Marlene Baer; two aunts: Elizabeth “Sis” Batovsky of Rowes Run, Pa., and Ruth Rigger of Uniontown, Pa.; her father-in-law, James M. Riggin of Dawson, Pa.; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Monday after 7 p.m., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 26, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Roland M. O’Brien officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
