Moses Deeb
Moses Deeb, 86, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at his home, after a long battle with cancer. Moses was born on March 10, 1919, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Mike and Mary Deeb.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florence Schofield Deeb.
He worked for U.S. Steel Corporation, for over 40 years, and retired as Assistant Mine Foreman.
Moses served in the U.S. Army 75th Division as a Staff Sargeant in World War II.
He was a member of St. Hugh Catholic Church, Carmichaels, Pa., Masontown American Legion, U.M.W.A., U.S. Steel Pensioners and Carmichaels Senior Citizens.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, Harry Deeb and wife, Alice of Erie, Pa.; a sister, Sarah Shihda of Lower Burrell, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Tom Schofield and wife, Kay and a sister-in-law, Jackie Deeb of Point Marion, Pa.; and the following nieces and nephews, Michael and Judy Deeb, Harriet and Ray Learn, Donna and Jim Natalo, Mary Lou and Jack Murphy, Nana Jo and Ron Winter, Jeanie Fogel, Dave and Sue Shihda, Chuck and Kathy Stout, Fred and Gail Bole, Tracy, Chris, Jason and Brian Deeb, Debbie Deeb, Gloria Jean Stachard, Ray, CaroLea and Kim Learn and Allison and Andrew Natalo; and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph M. Deeb and Abraham Deeb, two sisters, Sophie Gerhan and Betty Michael, a nephew, William Shihda, and a niece, Betty Jane Shihda.
Arrangements are under the direction of the PAUL MICHAEL LESAKO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Dowlin Ave., Carmichaels, Pa., Paul Michael Lesako Funeral Director/Supervisor. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at St. Hugh Church, Carmichaels, Pa. Interment follows at Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa. Military graveside service by American Legion Post 400 of Carmichaels, Pa.
