Anna (Dorula) Slanders, age 87, of Wexford, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, October 21, 2005, in The Wexford House Nursing Center. Anna (Dorula) Slanders, age 87, of Wexford, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, October 21, 2005, in The Wexford House Nursing Center.
She was born on April 5, 1918, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of Steve Dorula and Mary (Obyrtacz) Dorula.
Anna was a former member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown and was a current member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Anna was a wonderful homemaker and mother!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene E. Slanders, two sisters, Helen Dorula and Angeline Dorula Descaro, and four brothers, Joseph, Walter, Frank and Stanley Dorula.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons: William J. Slanders and his wife, Joan, of North Vandergrift, Pa., and Robert E. Slanders and his wife, Concetta, of Wexford, Pa.; three grandchildren: Michael Slanders, Jessica Slanders and Rebecca Slanders; two sisters: Nellie Gallo of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Mary Inman of Chattanooga, Tennessee; four sisters-in-law: Corinne Dorula, Eliza Slanders, Eleanor Slanders and Martha Sillett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, October 24) until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father Alexander L. Pleban as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
