Norma S. Johnson Newcomer
Norma S. Johnson Newcomer, age 102, of Fairbank, Pa., passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 23, 2005, in her residence. She was born October 20, 1903, in Spotsylvania, Virginia, the daughter of Woody Kirkland Johnson and Lucy Marshall Johnson.
Mrs. Newcomer was a member of the New Salem Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Fowler Class and the Women’s Association. She was a member of the Church for over sixty years and was its oldest living member.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Ward E. Newcomer, a sister, Inez Johnson, and her son-in-law, Benjamin McGill.
She is survived by her daughter, Modest N. McGill, with whom she resided.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Wednesday, October 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, October 27, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with her Pastor, the Rev. Marnie Abraham Russell, officiating.
Interment will follow in McClellandtown Presbyterian Church Cemetery (Church Hill Cemetery), McClellandtown, Pa.
