Tuesday, Nov. 1

Let’s Talk About Alzheimer’s Disease

1 p.m., Finleyville, Healthy Directions, Monongahela Valley Hospital’s health information and resource center at 3547 Washington Ave., Finleyville, will present a program that discusses risk factors, symptoms and treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. The program is free and open to the public and advance registration is requested at 724-348-6699.

Managing Your Diabetes

Stroke Support Group

3:30 p.m., ECC. This support group is free and open to those persons recovering from strokes and their families. For more information, call 724-258-1080.

Childbirth Preparation Classes

7 to 9 p.m., Center for Fitness and Health, Mon-Vale HealthPLEX, Rostraver. 4-week prenatal education series for pregnant women. For more information and to register, call 724-258-1400.

Friday, Nov. 4

Wound Care Update Seminar

8 a.m., ECC. For health care professionals responsible for the management of patient care. This program will inform and educate regarding new advances in the treatment of patients with wounds. For more information, call the MVH Department of Education and Planning, 724-258-1433

Saturday, Nov. 5

Open House and Health Fair

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Center for Fitness and Health, Mon-Vale HealthPLEX, Rostraver. Events include health information and screenings, tours of the area’s premier health and fitness facility and prizes. For more information, 724-379-5100.

Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 7 and 8

Candle Sale

Nov. 7 hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nov. 8 hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., ECC. Event is sponsored by the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. and is open to the public. Proceeds from the Candle Sale will be utilized to enhance services sponsored by the Auxiliary for patients and visitors at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Auxilian Dorothy Paterline is chairperson and Auxilian Marge Bergstedt is co-chairperson of the event. For more information, call 724-258-1234.

Monday, Nov. 7

Sibling Class

6:30 p.m., ECC. The “Baby and Me” program is free and open to expectant parents and their children to prepare the youngsters for the arrival of a new baby brother or sister. For more information, call 724-258-1400.

RSDS Support Group

11:30 a.m., ECC. The Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Support Group is free and open to all persons with RSDS or related illnesses. For more information, call 724-929-9492.

Wednesday, Nov. 9

Prostate Cancer Support Group

6 p.m., ECC. This support group is free and open to all prostate cancer patients and their families. For additional information, call 724-258-1210.

Thursday, Nov. 10

Diabetes Support Group

5:30 p.m., ECC. Annual Holiday Dinner – open to all diabetics and their families. Cost is $5. For more information, call 724-258-1148 to register by Nov. 1.

Monday, Nov. 14

Who Is At Risk for Diabetes?

1 p.m., Finleyville. Healthy Directions, Monongahela Valley Hospital’s health information and resource center at 3547 Washington Ave., Finleyville, will present a program that discusses risk factors of diabetes. Participant will be able to determine his or her own risks for developing the disease. The program is free and open to the public and advance registration is requested at 724-348-6699.

Monday, Nov. 21

Breastfeeding Support Group

6:30 p.m., Center for Fitness and Health, Mon-Vale HealthPLEX, Rostraver. This support group is free and open to all women interested in breastfeeding their newbom children. For more information, call 724-258-1400.

Monday, Nov. 21

Light Up Night

7 p.m., Hospital Central Plaza. A long-standing tradition at MVH, the Light-Up Night revelry will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature a special visit by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Children will have the opportunity to personally meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and each child will receive a treat. The MVH Choir will present special entertainment and refreshments will be served.

Monday, Nov. 21

Baby Care Class

7 p.m., ECC. Instructional session for parents-to-be in the last trimester of pregnancy. Information is given on home safety, basic car seat safety, immunizations, breast and bottle feeding, pacifiers, bathing an infant and additional topics. For more information, call 724-258-1400.

Monday, Nov. 21

Cancer Support Group

7 p.m., ECC. This support group is free and open to all cancer patients and their families. For more information, call 724-258-1210.

One-Stop Shopping

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ECC. Event is sponsored by the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc. and is open to the public.
