James Farris, 71, of Leisenring, Pa., died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at University Hospital of Cleveland, Ohio. He was born May 31, 1934, a son of the late John and Mary Sankey Farris.

Prior to his retirement, James was employed by Anchor Glass Container Corporation as a machine operator.

He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church, Leisenring and the Independent Slovak Citizens Club, Connellsville.

He is survived by his wife, Rhea “Jackie” (Dannels) Farris; 3 children, James R. Farris and wife Cynthia of Mechanicsville, Va., Lisa M. Bossart and husband David of Madison, Ohio and Bryan J. Farris and wife Jennifer of Moyock, N. C.; 6 grandchildren, Bethany (Farris) Cooper and husband Jeff, Eric and Mary Bossart, Michael, Michelle, and Mandi Farris; a great grandson, Jason Tyler Cooper; 2 brothers, Leonard Farris and wife Dorothy of Leisenring, Pa., Richard Farris and wife Willie of Boyce, La.; and a sister, Mary Farris Butt and husband Ted of Chardon, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lou Farris and a sister, Dolores J. Farris. Friends will be received today and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, Pa., where a blessing service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul R. C. Church, Leisenring, with Monsignor J. Edward McCullough as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist R. C. Cemetery, Brookvale.

A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, “Boy Scout Troop 183”, c/o Tina Dull, Leisenring, Pa. 15455.
