Walter L. Fabbri
Walter L. Fabbri, 80 of Masontown, Pa., died on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 in the Shadyside Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1924, a son of Orlando and Edith (Tonetti) Fabbri.
His parents, wife Gladys Fabbri, and a sister Delores Malinosky preceded him in death.
Walter was a graduate of Masontown High School. He proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Army, and retired from United States Steel Corporation, a coal miner at Robena Local 6321.
He was a life member and past Commander of Fort Mason American Legion Post 423, life member of the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584; George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 Hopwood, member and past officer of the Masontown Fire Department, and honorary member of the Youngwood Volunteer Fire Department.
Left to cherish his memory are his son William Joseph Fabbri and wife Raelene (Kwak) Fabbri and two beloved grandchildren William Tonetti “Tony” Fabbri and Chelsea Rae Fabbri, all of Smithton, Pa.; two sisters, Wanda Gearing of Virginia, Gloria Lester and Husband Joseph of Florida; four nephews, James Gearing, Joseph Lester, and William and Robert Malinosky.
Friends will be received in THE HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC. a Dignity Memorial Provided, 515 N. Main St., Masontown, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, September 3, until 12:30 p.m. when a blessing service will be held in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Father James F. Bump officiating.
Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Cemetery, Waynesburg, Pa., where VFW Post 4584 and American Legion Post 423 will accord military honors.
