Carmichaels Man injured
Police said James Jordan, 33, of Rices Landing was seriously injured Friday when he drove his Chevy Cavalier into the rear of a Kenworth tri-axle dump truck on East George Street in Carmichaels.
Police said Jordan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was extricated from his car and flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., where he was admitted in critical condition.
Carmichaels/Cumberland Township Volunteer Fire Department and Cumberland Township police assisted at the scene.
Police said the investigation into the crash continues.

Man charged
State police said Joseph Kovac, 22, of Irwin was charged with DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, prohibited offensive weapons and several traffic violations after leading police on a high-speed chase on Route 21 eastbound and then Interstate 79 southbound Wednesday evening.
According to police, Kovac nearly struck an unmarked police vehicle when the chase began.
Speeds during the chase exceeded 100 mph and the chase finally stopped in Kirby, when Kovac crashed his vehicle.
Kovac was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson and placed in the Greene County Prison in lieu of $15,000 straight cash bail.

Gas stolen
State police said someone pumped 7.817 gallons of gasoline at the BFS Foods at 1550 E. High St. Monday at 2:21 p.m. and fled the scene without paying.

Teen charged
State police said Jamie Fonner, 18, of Waynesburg was charged with disorderly conduct after an altercation with a teenaged boy Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. along Route 19.

Three injured
State police said Dennis McFadden of Merrittstown and William Teeter of Daisytown, as well as Teeter’s passenger Larry Pugliesi of Allison were flown to area hospitals with moderate injuries they suffered in a head-on collision on Route 166 Thursday at 7:11 p.m. McFadden was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., Teeter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and Pugliesi to UPMC. The Republic Volunteer Fire Department and Fayette EMS also responded to the accident.

Warrant arrest
Duron Ford, 22, of 149 S. Mount Vernon Ave. was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated indecent assault, terroristic threats and harassment Thursday at 2:30 p.m., city police said. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mark Blair and released on $100,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 8.

Bicycle accident
City police said 8-year-old Sean VanDivner of Uniontown struck a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Union Street while riding his bike Thursday at 5:52 p.m. He was not wearing a helmet, but suffered only a small cut on his knee, police said. Rodney Leckemby, 47, of Smithfield was driving the vehicle, which was not damaged, police said.

One-car accident
State police said Kerron G. Hackett, 20, of McClellandtown lost control of a car on Route 166 in Grays Landing Friday at 4:15 a.m., hit a guide rail and traveled down where the car hit a detached garage at a residence. Hackett had a passenger. No injuries were reported.

Sticker stolen
City police said Ralph Herniman of Connellsville Street reported Thursday afternoon that a hole was cut in the windshield of his vehicle and the inspection sticker was stolen sometime overnight.

Bicycle stolen
City police said Tricia Mitchell reported Thursday at noon that that her juvenile brother’s 20-inch silver Harro bike was stolen from outside of her Gordon Street home.

Vehicle accident
State police said Alicia Dible of Smithton and Jack Buck of West Mifflin were involved in an accident on Route 40 at the off ramp from Route 119 Wednesday at 6 a.m. No injuries were reported.

State police said a known female left the Squeeze N Go Gas station on Gun Club Road without paying for $20 in gas Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Tires damaged
State police said tires on Wayne Patrick Patterson’s vehicle were damaged at 58 Rose Blvd. Friday morning before 7:15 a.m. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the station at 724-439-7111.

Man arrested
Dennis Kirk, 53, of 226 E. Fayette St. was arrested along North Gallatin Avenue on a warrant from the Confluence Police Department Thursday at 4:18 p.m., city police said. He was turned over to Confluence police.
