John Ducar Jr., 90 of Allison No. 2, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born on Sept. 3, 1915, in Grindstone, Pa., son of the late John Ducar Sr., and Julia Hutnik Ducar.

John was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa., a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Corp, a life member of the VFW Post 47 of Uniontown, Pa., a member of the American Legion of Republic, Pa., the Star Junction Fish and Game Club, Fairbanks Sportsmen Club, Perryopolis Sokol Club and the UMWA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sophia Dudash Ducar; two sons, John and Linda Ducar of Allison, Pa., and James and Jackie Ducar of Allison, Pa.; two grandchildren, Tracy Ducar of Spotsylvania, Va., and James Ducar Jr., of State College, Pa.; four sisters, Helen Curcio of San Jose, Calif., Margaret Wolosky of Isabella, Pa., Ann Mucci of Bentleyville, Pa., and Mildred Verbanic of Punta Gorda, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Ducar; and sisters, Mary Ducar, Julia Volek and Theresa Ducar.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m., where a Panachida Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m., in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Jerome Botsko as celebrant. Parastas Service will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, where full military rites will be accorded by the Uniontown VFW Post No. 47.
