Community calendar – Sept. 8
FAYETTE COUNTY POMONA GRANGE 49 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Curfew Grange for the quarterly meeting. Lunch will follow. ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH YOUTH GROUP will hold a yard sale and car wash from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the church, corner of Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street, Uniontown. Yard sale is held in the Fellowship Hall and the car wash will be in the breezeway between the church and parsonage. Enter from the parking lot. Proceeds benefit the mission fund.
UNITED CHRISTIAN TEMPLE, 243 Wilson Ave., Uniontown, near Uniontown High School, will hold a flea market and bake sale today through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Toys, Christmas decorations, small appliances and other items are available.
THE TARA FOUNDATION AND AUXILIARY, Brownsville, will hold a bake sale and flea market Monday though Wednesday at The Tara Hospital. Bake sale will be held Monday only.
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF WEST NEWTON, Sixth and Vine streets, will hold a rummage sale during the West Newton Community Festival Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the West Newton Community festival. The church will also hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday during the River Festival.
MORNING STAR GRANGE will meet at noon Friday for lunch, hosted by the Garee family. A business meeting will follow.
MENALLEN GRANGE 1091 will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at the grange hall, New Salem Road.
SPEAR FAMILY will hold its 23rd annual reunion on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Mountain Fellowship Center, Flat Rock Road, featuring a Western theme. Dinner will be served at 1. Games and auction will be featured.
NEWELL METHODIST CHURCH will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Drink and dessert will be included. A bake sale will also be held.
ALBERT GALLATIN SOUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL Girls Basketball Boosters will hold a car wash Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Maykuth Funeral Home.
