George E. Marsinek, Sr.
George E. Marsinek, Sr., age 68, of Shalersville Township, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, in Akron City Hospital, Akron, Ohio. He was born April 25, 1937, in Connellsville, Pa., to the late Joseph and Gladys Ann (Menhart) Marsinek.
George has lived in Shalersville the past seven years, was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro, an avid golfer and veteran of the United States Air Force.
He retired after 38 years of service from AMETEK in Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sylvia (Burncheck) Marsinek; sons: George “Ed” and wife, Tammy Marsinek, Jr. of Shalersville, Mike and wife, Maureen Marsinek, Sr. of Streetsboro and Larry and wife, Wendy Jo Marsinek of Hudson; a daughter, Jo Ann Marsinek of Shalersville, Ohio; Grandchildren: Michael, Alexandria, Kristen, Spencer, Casey & Carter; a brother, Jim and wife Rita Marsinek of Westerville, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Lefty Marsinek and a sister, Anna Mae Davis.
Friends will be received in the SHORTS FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 141 North Meridian Street, Ravenna, Ohio, 44266, on Friday, September 9, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary services immediately following calling hours.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with the Burial in Standing Rock Cemetery Kent, Ohio.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
