Sherri A. (Petrucci) McGibbon
Sherri A. (Petrucci) McGibbon, 37, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born May 29, 1968, at Uniontown, and was the beloved wife of Alister McGibbon and the mother of Ashley E. and Andrew J. McGibbon, all of Uniontown.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her parents, Jerry and Judy Christopher Petrucci; a sister Stephanie Dean and her husband, Jeffrey of Flatwoods; a brother, Aaron S. Petrucci of Uniontown; her maternal grandfather, Donald Christopher of McClellandtown; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norma and William McGibbon of Uniontown.
Sherri was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in journalism and received a teaching certificate in English from California University of Pennsylvania. She was a former journalist with the Herald-Standard for 11 years and currently was a substitute teacher for the Connellsville Area School District.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Shirley Petrucci; and her maternal grandmother, Harriet Christopher.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today after 7 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 11 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, the hour of service, with Pastor Andy Miles and Rufus Peer, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa. In Sherri’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Ashley and Andrew J. McGibbon Education Fund in care of, First Federal Savings and Loan of Greene County at PO Box 1246, Uniontown, PA 15401.
