Felony warrant served

City police served a felony warrant Saturday afternoon on a Uniontown man who has been wanted for almost five months. Christian Walter Frezzell, no address available, was charged with retail theft after he allegedly tried to steal several items from a local pharmacy April 19.

City police Detective Donald M. Gmitter said Officer Dennis Field was on bike patrol during the 84 Lumber Classic Parade when he spotted Frezzell walking down Gallatin Avenue at 11:28 a.m.

Frezzell was taken into custody without incident, Gmitter said.

The 40-year-old man, according to a criminal complaint filed by Gmitter, attempted to take a bottle of Aromafloria Bath and Body Massage Oil, two packs of Aromafloria Inhalation Beads, a bottle of body scrub and a box of Locan Mineral Bath Salts from the CVS Pharmacy, located at 25 Pittsburgh St.

Store manager Bradley Takach told Gmitter a man, who was later identified as Frezzell, placed the items inside his pants and jacket pockets. When Takach confronted Frezzell, he returned the merchandise and then pushed Takach out of his way and left the store, according to the criminal complaint.

Gmitter said the total value of the merchandise was $54.45.

Frezzell was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Randy Abraham and placed in Fayette County Prison on 10 percent of a $25,000 bond.
