Helen Babich Billak, 81, of Masontown, Pa., formerly of Waterbox, Pa., beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died on Monday, September 12, 2005, at Asbury Heights in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born on March 6, 1924.

Helen was a member of Saint Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church in Masontown, Pa., where she served in many capacities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, parents, Maria and Peter, her sisters, Mary Johnston, Ann Sweda, and Julia Babich, and brothers, John, Peter, and George and daughter-in-law, Ann.

Helen is survived by her daughters: Helen and husband, Paul, Carol and husband, Brad and a son, John, as well as grandchildren: Gregory, Calley, Rachel, Alexander and Alexandra.

She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Georgi; brothers: Stephen and Andrew Babish and their spouses, as well as her sisters-in-law, Julia Kurzyniec and Margaret Robertson, and her brother-in-law, Michael Billak and his spouse, and many truly loved nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, September 15, until 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Service follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, Masontown, with Father Igor Soroka officiating.

Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.

A Panachida Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with Father Thomas Soroka officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Saint Mary’s Orthodox Church, 309 South Washington Street, Masontown, PA 15461.
