Former champion Forsman 1 of 6 withdrawals Two golfers qualified for the 84 Lumber Classic Monday at Quicksilver G.C., while seven others got in as alternates.

Qualifying with matching 69s were Steve Wheatcroft of Jupiter, Fla., and Brandon Knaub of Seven Fields, Pa.

Eight players withdrew including one who was admitted as an alternate. Withdrawing were 2002 champion Dan Forsman, Michael Allen, Bart Bryant, Tom Byrum, Chad Campbell, John Cook, Nick Watney and alternate Hideto Tanihara.

Alternates who made the field include Mario Tiziani, Bob Rashell, Will McKenzie, Jeff Hart, John Elliott, Jim Carter and Bradley Hughes. The field can change until the last golfer tees off in Thursday’s first round.
