CHICKEN AND BISCUIT dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Curfew Grange, Flatwoods. Sponsors are the grange and the Flatwoods Fire Department. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children age 4 through 10. Children 3 and under eat free. A bake sale will be held. Any donations will be appreciated. AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES Retirees Local Chapter 8404 will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Amvets Post 103, Buttermilk Lane, Hopwood. All state retirees are welcome to attend.

UNIONTOWN SERVICE LEAGUE at 41 W. Main St., Uniontown, has fall merchandise arriving daily. All proceeds are given to local charities.

TRI-COUNTY BOROUGH ASSOCIATION will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Belle Vernon Fire Department, 10 Main St., Belle Vernon. The meal will be served promptly at 7 p.m. followed by a business meeting. Hosts are Belle Vernon, Fayette City and Perryopolis boroughs. Guest speaker will be Chris Cap, deputy executive vice president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB).

UNIONTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY fall programs will be as follows: Family Craft Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month beginning Sept. 19. Parents and children may work together to produce crafts. All supplies, a snack and beverage will be provided. Enrollment is limited so parents and children are encouraged to sign up soon. Popcorn and a Movie Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month beginning Oct. 3. The Children’s Library will present a film based upon children’s literature. Popcorn and beverages will be provided. Those interested may visit the Children’s Library for a list of upcoming attractions. Storytime will be presented at 11 a.m. each Wednesday and Thursday beginning Oct. 5 and 6.
