Jacqueline (Jaci) Lee Cunningham Roby

Jacqueline (Jaci) Lee Cunningham Roby, 65, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Sept. 11, 2005, after a brief illness. Jaci was a graduate of Uniontown High School, Class of 1957. As an adult, she continued her education with FCAVTS of Uniontown and became an LPN in 1987. She continued her nursing education through Penn State University and earned her registered nursing license in 1992. Her career began as an executive secretary for Vulcan Materials in Sandusky, Ohio. When she returned to Pennsylvania, she worked as a caseworker for the Pennsylvania DHHS and an executive secretary for Bauer Lumber. Upon earning her LPN license, she worked at Henry Clay Villa and Brownsville Hospital. After becoming an RN, her career led her to West Penn Hospital, Ruby Memorial Hospital and Morgantown Hospice.

Jaci, a very generous person, was very involved with her community. She performed duties as Secretary Treasurer for Country Wide Treasury Council, and served on the Uniontown High School, Class of 1957 Reunion Committee. Additionally, she previously served as Resident Council President of White Swan Apartments and was a friend and volunteer to the residents of White Swan for medical, transportation and other needs. She was a dedicated political activist and regularly contributed to the Crime Victims Center Women’s Shelter. Jaci enjoyed genealogy, traveling, reading and had a passion for learning.

Jaci is survived by her four children and their spouses: Jill and Kenny Moore, Brian Roby, Bruce and Gina Roby and Brent and Jhoni Roby; eight grandchildren, Anthony and Corey Augustine, Jamie, Nathan and Amanda Roby, Marissa and Chelsea Roby and Jarred Roby; two sisters, Janet and Michael Pizzachetti and Virginia and Larry McVey; seven nieces and nephews; and a special companion, Cinnamon, her Pomeranian.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Thomas and Father Ralph Cunningham and two grandchildren, Keith Alan Roby and Devon Paige Roby.

A private family service will be held at the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 680 Cherry Tree Lane, Uniontown, Pa. A memorial service, officiated by Dr. Neil Hoppe, will be held at the Great Bethel Baptist Church, 47 West Fayette St., Uniontown, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Domestic Violence Services or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
