Betty S. Wilson, 91, of Marietta, Ga. and formerly of Garards Fort (Headlee Heights), Pa., died at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, in Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, Ga. She was born January 4, 1914, in Garards Fort, Pa., the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Ethel Conway Strosnider.

Mrs. Wilson was a 1931 graduate of Cumberland Township High School and resided in Garards Fort most of her life. She was a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church of Garards Fort, Pa., and enjoyed guilt making. She and her late husband, Jay Wilson, owned and operated a grocery store in Garards Fort for a number of years. The couple was married in September of 1936 and her husband died July 25, 2005.

Surviving are two daughters: Maureen Garrison of Marietta and Peg Hare and her husband, Millard, of Mason, Ohio; five grandchildren: Mike Garrison, Debbie Gordon, Ty Hare, Chris Hare and Jay Hare; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Strosnider and two sisters: Hazel Williams and Edythe Headlee.

Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. (724-966-5500). A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2005, in Garards Fort Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Haines officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, c/o Eugene G. Everly, P.O. Box 232, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
