Clem Fischer
Clem Fischer, 96, of Thompson, Ohio, and formerly of Chalk Hill, Pa., passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Chardon Nursing Center, Chardon, Ohio. He was born Dec. 9, 1908, at Eckhart, Md., son of the late Albert Cleveland Fischer and Malinda Jane Deneen Fischer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters, Elwood, Lewis, James and Arthur Fischer and Virgie Decker and Grace Lynch.
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Edna Mae Lake Fischer of Thompson, Ohio; two sons, Ronald Fischer and wife, Pat of Thompson, Ohio, and Gerald Fischer and wife, Ann of Darin Center, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Deborah Rohrbaugh and husband, Bruce of Thompson, Ohio, Bonnie Lette and husband, Wayne of Thompson, Ohio, Sherry Zimmerman and husband, Stephen of Darin Center, N.Y., Laurie Reale and husband, Nicholas Jr., of Chittenango, N.Y., Cathy Cutter and husband, Daniel of Attica, N.Y., and Stephen Fischer of Rochester, N.Y. 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha Felton of Breezewood, Pa.
Mr. Fischer was a Charter member of Wharton Furnace Union Church, where he helped build and he later held membership in Chalk Hill United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School Class for many years. He was an owner operator in the trucking business for a number of years and had also been employed with Summit Lumber and Frazee Lumber companies.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the hour of the service, with the Rev. Terry Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Farmington, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Pa.
