George W. Etling
George W. Etling, 89, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away Monday, September 19, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born June 15, 1916, in Bullskin Township, the son of the late George B. and Elizabeth Swink Etling.
He was a life long resident of the Bullskin Township, Connellsville area.
Prior to his retirement, he was a Die Setter for Anchor-Hocking Cap Plant 15 and also owned and operated Etling Auto Repair Service in Connellsville, Pa. He was a member of King Solomons Lodge 346 F& A.M. of Connellsville, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, and Consistory Valley of Pittsburgh Gourgas Lodge. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church of Connellsville.
He is survived by a daughter, Nelva (Tootie) Hasson of Republic, Pa; three sons: Charles G. Etling and wife, Karen of Connellsville, James A. Etling and wife, Gari of Tooele, Utah and Leslie G. Etling and wife, Mary of Connellsville; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Nelva M. Sanner Etling on October 2, 2002, two brothers, Clarence (Andy) Etling and Charles P. Etling, four sisters, Frances Miner, Rose Colborn, Pearl Yothers and Freda Etling.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Elmer Reamer officiating.
Entombment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to the Otterbein United Methodist Church at 201 Lincoln Avenue, Connellsville, PA 15425.
King Solomons Lodge 346 F&A.M. will conduct a Memorial Ritual at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
