John Edward “Ed” Wahler, Jr., 68, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday September 19, 2005, in his residence with his loving family at his side. He was born August 23, 1937, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late John Edward Wahler, Sr., and Helen DeHanis Wahler.

Also preceding him in death were his first wife, Barbara Jean Holliday Wahler, his second wife, Judith A. Holliday Wahler and a grandson David Edward Orawiec.

Mr. Wahler retired from Bell Atlantic with 40 years of service, was a member of the Cherry Tree Alliance Church and a member of CWA 1300.

Surviving are four children: Linda Orawiec and her husband, David of Uniontown, John Edward Wahler, III and his wife, Kristen of Amarillo, Texas, Scott K. Wahler and his wife, Kimberly of Eau Claire, Wisc. And Dr. Bruce A. Wahler and his wife, Dr. Suzanne Wahler of McBee, S.C.; five grandchildren; a brother, Herbert L. Wahler and his wife, Katharine of Rockville, Md., and two sisters: Helen Louise Rentfrow and her husband Rev. Thomas Rentfrow of Wheeling, W. Va. and Edie R. Rossini and her husband Richard of Lawrenceville, Ga.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. and will be announced.
