Wanda Eleanor (Boniar) Matalik, age 89, of 326 Cottage Avenue, Masontown, Pa., died suddenly on Saturday, September 17, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on August 12, 1916, in Continental One, Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Paul Boniar and Veronica (Rachowiak) Boniar.

Wanda was a member of Saint Mary Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church in New Salem, Pa.

She led a blissful life and made her home a place of comfort and happiness for her family and friends!

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Matalik Jr. (February 7, 1997), brothers, Michael, Martin, Francis, Paul, Edwin and Edmund Boniar, and sisters, Helen Wascak and Blanche Yesh.

Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Joseph R. Matalik and his wife, Mary, of Seabrook, South Carolina; grandson, Christopher Matalik of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sisters: Margaret Budner and her husband, Tony, of Uniontown, Pa., and Martha Townsend and her husband, Joe, of Columbus, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 21, until 9:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.

Divine Liturgy follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, New Salem, with the Reverend Father Jerome T. Botsko as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

Parastas will be in the Funeral Home this (Tuesday) evening at 7:30 p.m.
