Donald F. Yowler
Donald F. Yowler, 87, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born April 16, 1918, in Fairchance, Pa., the son of the now late Arthur Harold Yowler and Chloe Shreve Yowler. His first wife, Mary Ella Riley Yowler, also precede him in death in 1979.
Donald was a graduate of Uniontown High School Class of 1936. After graduation, he joined the Army Air Corp and served during World War II.
He was a retired pilot and manager for Texas Eastern Bit Co and also worked as a salesman for Region Electric Company, Sauer’s Men’s Store, Lash Sporting Goods, Dice’s Sporting Goods and Sears. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, VFW Post 47, he had enjoyed flying and golfing, but most recently enjoyed listening to music, reading and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife, Freda Beatrice Edenfield Yowler; daughters: Judith Lynne Throckmorton of Mississippi, Joyce Ann Barnhart and husband, Robert of Uniontown and grandchildren: Donald Scott Yowler, David Michael Yowler and Robert E. Barnhart Jr. and wife, Tamara of Washington D.C., and five great grandchildren, stepsons: Edward J. Edenfield III and wife, Carol of New Mexico, Guy Christopher Edenfield and wife, Linda of New Jersey, and Galen Lee Edenfield of Uniontown, step-daughters: Janice Rae Smitley and husband, Robert of Loganville, Ga., Opal Pearl Rodgers of Uniontown, Roberta Jill McVeigh and husband, Wayne of Norwalk, Calif. And numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNEARL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
Full Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Post 47 at the cemetery.
