Richard Lee Lawson Sr.
Richard Lee Lawson Sr., 69, of Smithfield, Pa., died Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at home. He was born July 9, 1936, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Leland Lawson and Grace D. McKinney Lawson.
He was also predeceased by two infant sons and one brother, Jerry Lawson.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Aleta Fordyce Lawson; five children, Richard L. Lawson Jr., and wife, Wendy of Hampton, Va., Gregory L. Lawson and his wife, Angie of Uniontown, Pa., Rhonda Angel and her husband, Robert of Nitro, W.Va., Ryan S. Lawson and his wife, Joellen of Anoka, Minn., and Melissa Jones and her husband, Gary of North Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was a veteran of the United States Army.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Scott Teets officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
