Lewis Andrew Nicholson
Lewis Andrew Nicholson, 93, a longtime resident of Gans, Pa., died peacefully at his home on Monday, Sept. 12, 2005. Born at Maple Summit in Stewart Township, Pa., on July 22, 1912, he was a son of the late Lloyd M. and Mary Johnson Nicholson.
He was a faithful member and Elder for many years of the Oak Grove Church of Christ, a 1932 graduate of the former Georges Township High School and retired as manager of the Albert Gallatin Municipal Authority in Springhill Township.
His loving wife of 65 years, Lucretia Corder Nicholson, passed away on Sept. 15, 2003.
Surviving are his three children and their spouses, Ronald L. and Kathy Nicholson of Carmel, Calif., Judith M. and Tom Bartholomew of Greensville, Pa., and Susan M. Nicholson of Gans; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the oldest and last surviving in of eight children, having been predeceased by brothers, Melvin, Ivan, and Albert Lee, and sisters, Violet Lincoln, Marie Brower, and Minnie and Doris Nicholson.
At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral home visitation. Friends are invited to join with the family in the Oak Grove Church of Christ on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, from 2 to 3 p .m., the hour of the memorial service, with his minister, Brian Young officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Union Cemetery, Lake Lynn.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Oak Grove Church of Christ 4723 Morgantown Rd., Lake Lynn, PA 15451, or Albert Gallatin Hospice, 20 Highland Park Dr., Uniontown, Pa. 15041. Arrangements are under the care of the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa.
