Worship planned Fairview United Methodist Church, Laurendale Road, Grindstone, worships Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with a children’s program available during the service. The Rev. James Myers is pastor. The church choir will provide special music with Jeff Hayducks as organist. A special offering will be taken for the victims of Hurricane Katrina along with health kits, school kits and baby layettes being taken to the church. Communion set

Fairchance Borough Council has placed a mandatory water conservation and a ban on burning until further notice.
Blasting to be discussed
Masontown Borough property owners should be prepared to attend the borough council meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the borough building. Council will discuss problems with mine-relating blasting that is causing damage in the borough.
