Melissa Lynn Matthews of Chalk Hill, and Bradley David Rice of Grindstone, were united in marriage. The Rev. Alexander L. Pleban celebrated the nuptial Mass on July 16 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.

The bride is the daughter of Raymond and Linda Matthews of Deer Lake Park, Chalk Hill. The bridegroom is the son of Ralph and Julie Rice of Grindstone.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father.

Matron of honor was Tricia Marie Ciliberto, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jillian Rice, sister of bridegroom; Katrina Ann Griffith and Kristy Marie Griffith, cousins of the bride; and Shelly Rice, junior bridesmaid, niece of the bridegroom. Flower girls were Martina Caterina Ciliberto, niece of the bride, Karly House, cousin of the bride, and Bridget Perry, cousin of the bridegroom.

Best man was Phil Rice, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Chad Rice, brother of the bridegroom; Izzi Martini and Bobby Petrus. Phillip Rice Jr., nephew of the bridegroom, was junior groomsman. Danny House, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception was held at the Hopwood Firemen’s Social Hall.

The bride graduated from Uniontown Area High School and California University of Pennsylvania. She is a teacher with the Laurel Highlands School District.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Brownsville Area High School and served with the U.S. Navy. He is employed with S.C.I. Greene.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.

They are residing in Uniontown.
