Delbert D. Henderson

Delbert D. Henderson, age 79, of Grindstone, Pa., passed away Saturday morning, September 24, 2005, with his loving daughters by his side. He was born May 1, 1926, at Connellsville, Pa., son of the late Clarence and Mae Keller Henderson.

Delbert was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church of Grindstone, Pa. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 47 and American Legion Post 51, both of Uniontown, Pa. Delbert was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a Cub Scout Leader of the WEBLO No. 650 and a member of I.A.M. Local.

Most of all, he was a loving father and grandfather.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Brown Sr., and Mrs. Anthony (Peggy) Dominick Sr., both of Grindstone, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, Charles Henderson of Grindstone, Pa., George Marsh Jr., of Smock, Pa., Mrs. Ralph (Wanda) Price Sr., of Smock, Mrs. Doyle (Ramona) Patterson Sr., and Mrs. John (Darlene) Thomas Sr., both of Grindstone, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Alverta Henderson of Grindstone, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Henderson; one brother, Clarence Henderson; and one sister, Twila Rice.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Michael Long officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 47, Uniontown, Pa.
