Irene M. Rice Nichols, 86, of Scottdale, Pa. and formerly of Mount Pleasant, Pa., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, in Jo-Ella’s Personal Care Home, Scottdale, Pa. She is survived by her husband, George Edward Nichols; her son, Carl VanKeuren of California; her daughter, Dianne VanKeuren of Elmira, N.Y.; stepsons: Robert Nichols of Stahlstown and Ronald Nichols of Mount Pleasant; stepdaughter, Mrs. Ronald (Joan) DeFilippo of Mount Pleasant; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren; her brother, Clifford Rice of Wabasso, Fla.; and her sister, Mrs. Edward (Lillian) Burella of Mansfield, Pa.

Friends will be received at Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant, today, Sept. 27, 2005, from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of the service.
