Albert T. “Zeke” Hess
Albert T. “Zeke” Hess, 70, of Glenshaw, Pa., formerly of Denbo, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, Pa., following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hess was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Vesta No. 6, Pa., a son of Albert and Hazel McDonough Hess.
He was a graduate of Centerville High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army, worked for the J & L Vesta No. 5 Mine, having retired in 1992, and he was a member of the UMWA.
Mr. Hess was Methodist by faith.
He was a member of the Denbo-Vesta-Six Fire Company, since 1956, where he held various offices and served as trustee. He was also a member of the Victory Club in Denbo.
Surviving are a daughter, Patty Flory and her husband, Richard of Glenshaw, Pa.; three sons,, Albert T. “Tom” Hess and his wife, Carmen of Dalzell, N.C., Daniel Hess of Lebanon, Pa., and Edward Hess and his wife, Karen of Eley, Ariz.; two grandsons, Kevin Flory and David Flory; one granddaughter, Angelica Hess; one step-grandson, Austin Hagerman; two sisters, Carol Darney of Centerville Boro, and Elsie Rayburn of Edison, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Beallsville, Pa., where services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, with the Rev. Dr. John Garvin officiating.
