BULLSKIN TWP. – An Acme man was killed early Thursday when his motorcycle crashed into a truck along Route 31. Mark Brady, no age given, died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest, according to a spokeswoman for the Allegheny County Coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at Presbyterian University Hospital at 6:10 a.m. by hospital physician Dr. Rani Schuchert.

Police said that the accident occurred when the 1975 Kenworth truck, driven by Patrick Donovan of Ligonier, exited a private business driveway into the eastbound lane of Route 31 and was struck by Brady who was also traveling in the eastbound lane.

Police said that Donovan was not injured in the accident while the truck he was driving incurred minor damage.

Brady was wearing a helmet, said police.

Traffic in the area was rerouted around the accident scene for several hours.

State police from the Uniontown Barracks along with Medic 10 ambulance service and Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Co. responded to the 2:45 a.m. scene.
